IFAs flock to Life Planning workshops
- Life Planning has become the ‘Marmite of the industry'. You either love it or hate it - but IFAs want to learn more
- IFAs want to know if US Life Planning methodologies work in UK practices
- Clients want Life Planning - IFAs owe it to them to learn the skills needed
IFAs are increasingly intrigued by Financial Life Planning and are taking steps to learn how it can be integrated into their service proposition.
Workshops in London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast are filling up fast, with one London workshop selling out in hours.
Whilst keen to know more about Life Planning and how it can work in an IFA's practice, to date teaching of the skills and methodology has only been available from US based providers, and many IFAs are unsure as to whether it is appropriate for UK IFA practices.
IFA Life's founder Philip Calvert said today:
"There has been a huge amount of hype around Life Planning, but most IFAs would like to see how it fits from a British perspective."
Calvert continued:
"IFAs are signing up left, right and centre because they realise that with RDR on the horizon it's very important to broaden their range of advice services - or at the very least to learn new skills that will help them to look after their clients even better."
"The fact is, that clients ARE interested in Life Planning and will and do pay for it, so IFAs owe it to their clients to learn more about it."
Co host of the workshops is Tina Weeks of Serenity Financial Planning. Weeks, who is also the UK representative for the Kinder Institute of Life Planning said today:
"I'm absolutely fascinated by the way every client I have seen lately is completely intrigued by and wants to experience Life Planning. This is a really big opportunity for IFAs."
