Second Social Media in Financial Services conference announced in response to demand from IFAs
01/02/2010
- "Ground breaking" and "industry changing" event returns in November
- IFAs have no choice but to embrace the Internet to stay relevant to today's consumers
Even before delegates had returned home from IFA Life's Social Media in Financial Services conference in January, IFAs were already demanding that a second conference be held in 2010.
Delegates described the event as "groundbreaking", "stunningly successful" and "industry changing" as speakers from Google, YouTube, LinkedIn and others revealed how financial advice will change over the coming months and years and how IFAs can benefit from it.
Before attending the London conference, a number of IFAs expressed scepticism at the value of Social Media to IFAs, but left the event realising that it is real, growing at an incredible rate and as business owners, IFAs cannot afford to ignore it.
Tina Weeks of Serenity Financial Planning said after the two-day event:
"I attended the conference thinking I was already doing quite a lot on the internet, but now I know there is so much more I could be doing. Not just for the sake of doing it but to really benefit my business."
"I truly feel that we are at a point of maximum opportunity and our actions over the next few months will determine how our businesses will be able to handle the huge impact that the internet will have in Financial Services."
At the end of the two days, many IFAs said they felt as though they were on the cutting edge, at the forefront of a new frontier.
As a result, IFA Life has announced a second Social Media in Financial Services conference on 4th November at Beaumont House in Old Windsor. This will be a one day event with speakers from Google already confirmed along with Fincision, IFA Life and world renowned social media monitoring expert Christophe Langlois Organiser Philip Calvert said today:
"Of all major industries, Financial Services engages with its customers the least online, in direct contradiction to how consumers are using the Internet. There is so much opportunity for IFAs to engage with consumers, clients and professional connections via the Web this event is a golden opportunity they can't afford to miss."
"Many attendees at the first conference in January have already re-booked, so those wishing to attend in November need to sign up fast."
